Hi, this is =FaustaNikos, and I'll be helping =ShadowSaine out with admin tasks from now on, along with *mckadesinsanity. (And =ShadowSaine is bloody well certain someone else offered to help and he's forgetting 'em, so please let us know if that's you, and apologies in advance. We all know Xof fails at life, don'tcha know. )

Just an update to tell everyone some things happening around web that you Originals might want to know about, if you don't already.

The first is happening right here on dA, with The Original Character Appreciation Contest, by *Nyiana-Sama. Check it out - the deadline is the 11:59:59 on the 31st of December, so you've got plenty of time.

The second is not directly related to original characters, but might be of interest to those of you who are aspiring novelists with your OCs. May I introduce NaNoWriMo. This is the ultimate novel writing 'competition', where to win you have to write a 50,000 word novel in November. That's right - one month, one novel. Have any questions, have a look at their FAQs.

The final announcement is the brainchild of myself and =ShadowSaine, a LiveJournal Community all about writing for original characters - each month we'll post four prompts, and your challenge is to write four snippets of fiction in response. We'd love to have some more members, so get yourself over here and join in. If you don't have a LJ account, you can sign up here.

Also, we're desperate for some more entries into the avatar/devID not-a-contest, so keep creating!
